National Team of Satellite Communication Makes Achievement! The First "Satellite Broadcast" of Luerm

The lively 2024 Dajia Matsu Pilgrimage has begun, with a professional television broadcast team in charge. The broadcast features the grand procession of the Luermen Town Grand Matsu Procession, incorporating satellite communication to ensure the smooth streaming of the largest Matsu pilgrimage event in southern Taiwan, even amid current internet congestion. This setup allows for emergency live satellite broadcasts of the Matsu procession at any time.

In the past, major exhibitions or significant news events in Taiwan relied heavily on TV station satellite broadcast vans for real-time viewing. However, for privately organized events, the best option was usually internet streaming. Now, thanks to the efforts of the "National Team of Satellite Communication," the Luermen Mazu Temple in Tainan has adopted satellite broadcasting for the first time. This ensures that the live signal remains stable, even when mobile base stations are heavily occupied.

During the Luermen Mazu Temple pilgrimage event, nearly 300 palanquins and 80 processional groups participated. The professional team led by Lin Zongxiu, who has been responsible for television broadcasts over the years, combined with satellite broadcasting, made the procession of the Luermen Town Grand Matsu Procession quite grand. In the past, the Matsu pilgrimage event attracted up to 300,000 participants, with crowds capturing photos, videos, and uploading them online, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere. This often caused delays for land-based telecommunications companies to broadcast the event live.

Therefore, under the guidance of Wang Zengrong, Director of the Luermen Mazu Temple, a research and development team composed of industry, government, and academia was formed. They collaborated with international satellite companies using the largest Intelsat satellite integration system with backgrounds in the U.S. government for high, medium, and low Earth orbits. Additionally, they partnered with the U.S.-based Iridium low Earth orbit satellite company, which has been globally operational since 2019. Together, they supported the satellite broadcasting system for the Matsu pilgrimage event, eliminating uncertainties associated with non-operational satellite systems. Only mature, operational satellite systems were utilized to ensure the smooth live satellite broadcast of the largest Matsu pilgrimage event in southern Taiwan.

Furthermore, in response to the "electrification" of vehicles and the business opportunities it presents, the Foreign Trade Association will host the second edition of the "2035 E-Mobility Taiwan" during the AMPA exhibition in April. Additionally, in July, at the Taiwan Image Exhibition in Thailand, an "E-Mobility Theme Pavilion" will be set up to assist domestic electric vehicle-related businesses in expanding their international presence.

This year, President-elect Lai Ching-te returned to his familiar hometown of Tainan to participate in the incense trimming procession at the Luermen Mazu Temple. Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che, Director of the Luermen Mazu Temple Wang Zengrong, Legislative Yuan member Chen Ting-fei, City Councilors Tsai Li-ching and Huang Li-zhao also attended the event. President-elect Lai Ching-te delivered a speech praying for national prosperity, peace, and favorable weather, while also providing an in-depth introduction to the incense science of Tainan temples. Additionally, Lai Ching-te announced the newly appointed cabinet members and emphasized the democratic alliance's spirit of talent-based governance, aiming to bring outstanding individuals into the new government to serve the people.

It is understood that Intelsat is currently the global satellite communication provider for the U.S. government and military, primarily responsible for the U.S. satellite communication network system. Therefore, Intelsat launches various satellite systems each year and integrates various U.S. satellite systems. For example, this year, it is expected to launch ten medium Earth orbit satellites covering the entire globe. Intelsat is the only global provider that integrates high Earth orbit, medium Earth orbit, and low Earth orbit satellite systems. In Taiwan, the "National Team of Satellite Communication" is composed of industry leaders such as Zheng Yu Microwave, Chuan Sheng Company, JEBSEE, and the Institute for Information Industry (III), alongside the 30-year veteran satellite professional company, Shiang Yu Technology. This team handles various satellite communication functions and satellite communication network certifications. The network certification allows temporary satellite communication equipment setup, traffic control, satellite communication big data processing, emergency satellite support, and various confidential functions to be controlled in Taiwan. Only Shiang Yu Technology has obtained both land and maritime certifications, enabling it to provide emergency backup communications for government and military operations, satellite networks, remote medical services, and satellite communication mobile command vehicles.
